Darcy Hicks is an educational consultant and teaching coach with a Masters in Education, certified by the state of CT in grades K-12. She specializes in the use of art as the foundation for learning. Specifically, she guides students through the creative process of taking in the world around them, processing what they see and understand, and helping them to generate art and writing as a way to communicate. This approach to learning, Visual Literacy, not only greatly improves observational skills and vocabulary, but gives students a path to successful engagement in their communities.
